Hi all,
In early 1975 I volunteered to ‘catch people’ as they fell under the presence of the Lord during a weekend of Charles and Francis Hunter ‘healing meetings.’ In fact I did that 2 or 3 years in a row they were in town during my high school years. Known as the ‘Happy Hunters’ in the 1970’s and 80’s, they traveled the nation with their worship team known as ‘The Amigos.’ They were gentle but direct, and anointed. The Lord truly moved through them, healing many.
One evening Charles talked with a man on the stage who said he was healed in his leg, but not fully. He still had limited movement with some pain. Charles instructed him on how to ‘look for the healing instead of what remains to be healed’. Charles taught him how to look for the healing process, not for what remained to be healed. As the man concentrated on what had been healed, and what freedom of movement he did have, and worshipped and gave thanks to the Lord, in a matter of seconds full pain-free movement returned and he walked off the platform with such joy and exuberance and praising God it was like a healing in the gospels. Everyone cheered and clapped.
“Look for the healing instead of what remains to be healed” hit my spirit then and has stayed with me these nearly 47 years, and not just for healing.
The things Satan attacks us with are often the loudest, screaming for our attention. What we have to do is turn from what Satan is doing to become fully focused and engaged in what the Lord is doing. It is the principles of looking for the healing instead of what remains to be healed
The successful and those who live in peace, have learned to discern between the urgent and the important. The urgent is that thing screaming at you for attention. The important charts the course of your life, and is very subtle. In the case of the man’s leg, the healing that was still needed was screaming for his attention, and Charles taught him to look at the important – what HAD been done and what WAS being done in his leg, giving thanks and worship for that, enlarging his faith in the name of Jesus as he did so.
Paul and Silas were singing praises to God at midnight though chained in the Philippian jail. Their wounds from the lashing they received no doubt screamed out in pain for their attention. The urgent. But they were doing the important – praising God to the extent the Lord supernaturally released their bonds and set them free.
Later, to the Philippians he wrote this in 1:6
“He who has begun a good work in you will continue to do so until the day of the Lord Jesus.” He wrote that from a Roman prison cell, which he only briefly references in 1: 7, 13. The Philippians faced persecution in that time, Paul was in prison, but his focus was on the process God was doing within each of them. Prison was urgent, the process of God was the important.
Even while handing the urgent, which we must do sometimes, we must never lose sight of the important.
Paul’s ‘prison epistles’ of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon are all about what God is doing, with barely a mention of his imprisonment. He was consumed with what God was doing among the people he knew and cared about, rather than what the devil was doing against them and him.
As we look with concern what is happening to our nations, we look much more at what the Lord is doing! The rapid changes to societies and governments scream for our attention, but focusing on what is important charts our way with Him in peace through the midst of it all.
When we ‘look for the healing’ we will experience the healing. When we look for what the Lord is doing, we receive the provision He has for us. What the devil is doing falls by the way side as we are able to turn a deaf ear to the urgency he brings to us, which is often cloaked in fear and confusion. Deal with what we must in the natural, but never let that urgent issue overshadow the important.
Be consumed with what the Lord is doing in our lives – what good do you see Him doing? What is better today than it was yesterday? Look for His process of healing, of wholeness in our lives!
I don’t usually mention the audio teaching for the month in this space
The series in the header above, “How to Trust in His Faithfulness” can really help getting into peace and rest concerning life. The CD/MP3 series includes a look at Jeremiah, called ‘the weeping prophet’, who saw the destruction of his nation as he knew it, but entered into a rest in His faithfulness. Sometimes we are so close to a situation we lose site of His record of faithfulness in our lives. We know He is and will continue to be faithful, but how do we enter into a trust and rest in that faithfulness?
Prophetic – Digital currency
During one of the two January 2021 visitations the Lord talked to me about the future move towards digital currency. He said:
“Governments will take advantage of Covid to accelerate the move to digital currencies.” When I asked why, He responded:
“They want (your) money. Governments will not reign in their spending, so they will turn to digital currency to be able to track every transaction with the main purpose being the collection of taxes. They also want to erase debt. If left unchecked, the spirit behind it would result in something similar to the days of Joseph when the money failed and the government ended up owning every person and thing.” (Genesis 47: 14-24)
I haven’t shared that until now but felt prompted in my spirit to share it today. We don’t see this happening right now, and usually when the Lord tells me things like this it is ‘behind the scenes’ type of information – in other words, plans are already in place to move in this direction, it’s just not public yet. He didn’t say to pray about it like He did with the health of the President of the US and the coming transition. It was just stated as fact.
When the news hit the nations agreed to tax multi-national corporations 15% it hit my spirit.
During a time of worship in our house church meeting He came again, and at least 2 others saw Him and others sensed Him there too. It was then He answered my question of why news of that 15% tax his my spirit. He simply said as if picking up where He had left off from the earlier visitation:
“The way to accomplish that in digitally. (International coordination tracking profits and transactions for the purpose of collecting taxes). This is part of the preparation for what I told you earlier.”
So watch for that. He did tell me currency is largely digital already, but most don’t realize it. But the foundation is being put in place to transform world commerce and therefore economies. The Revelation tells of a future (what appears to be) digital currency mandated during the last half of the 7 year time we call The Tribulation, what Judaism calls ‘The time of Jacob’s Trouble’, but we aren’t there yet, so don’t panic.
I don’t often mention our Zoom meetings in this space
I feel the notices we put in the headers of my Weekly Thoughts and these e-newsletters suffice for those interested. But for December’s Zoom meeting I’m also mentioning it here. I’ll define what scripture says is the growth process, and about holiness, purity, and how He seeks to move our lives from disorder to order.
Once you register there are no reminders sent out, and the outline for those meetings is only for those meetings. These free meetings are a 90-120 minutes of teaching, sharing, questions and answers, and ‘catching up’ with people from around the world. It is enriching and healthy to hear what the Lord is doing around the world.
In closing…
Thank you SO much to those who donate towards our support. Every gift helps us, and every person who gives is prayed for.
House church and what I call ‘relationship based faith’ is very ‘hands on’ and time consuming. More and more people are asking for help starting a house church, and we are working on a ‘package’ for such requests that includes books, videos, and audio teaching about the Biblical and historical house church. (House church is not a miniature of the auditorium where only 1 person controls/shares at each gathering).
Statistics and real life in the US are showing that even though churches are open, they are still averaging only 40%-60% attendance compared to pre-Covid. Many are not ever going back for they discovered they like meeting informally in homes, and want to know how to make their home gatherings fully house church.
I am also have many emails in my in box from months ago; I am way behind. Thank you for your patience – we are working on our web site, on those start up packages and more to streamline our make our work and service to the body of Christ more efficient.
Again, thank you. When you donate online I pause over each one and pray, and when you send prayer requests by mail I keep a picture on my phone of those to pray over as well. I keep prayer requests 30 days unless updated. Thank you for being in our lives!
Blessings,
John & Barb, Brian & Amy
