Hi all,
Thank you all who have prayed and given for Chris’ healing and to help us get Chris the equipment he has needed these last 3 months. We are SO thankful!
To give you an idea of the Father’s timing. Chris’ wheelchairs are a specialized 1 arm drive which allows him to drive around the house by pumping that lever back and forth (Chris only has the use of his right arm). We had some money given to allow us to buy a new one which was much needed, $1500, and the day we got that new one home the old one broke. It was perfect timing on the Father’s part. The mechanism that drives the chair is all one piece and we don’t know if the old one can be repaired, but we know the Father will provide when needed.
He was able to go back to the group home last week and is doing well. Several prayed for that transition and we appreciate it. It was smooth and he was of a good mind to go back. Now we will work to catch up with all the emails, phone, zoom, thank you’s, Skype and other calls and messages we’ve had to lay aside since mid-October. Thank you for being patient.
Also – honestly, Barb and I are really tired. Me in particular. Chris was at home for his first 24 years, and now in the group home 20 years. It’s one thing to care for a handicapped adult when we were young, but now at 65 it’s very different in energy level.
I went from non-stop preparation and travel for our New England conference in early October, to flying home unexpectedly to stay with Chris in the hospital 4 nights after Barb had already taken the previous 4 nights, then him home by ambulance, then caring for him the rest of October, November, December, and 2 weeks in January.
It’s been daily laundry/bedding loads as he can’t get out of bed to use the bathroom, and meals (Barb especially with those), and me the physical exertion of lifting/transferring/bathing/toilet care a 190 lb (86 kilos) man with the mental abilities of a 4 year old, suffering from a collapse of his L3 vertebrae, so care had to be made with all transfers, the constant care that has worn us down. Some of you can relate as you’ve taken care of someone infirmed in your own home, thanks for prayers.
Translators needed: My Weekly Thoughts and monthly newsletters are translated into 9 languages and posted on our EU web site, but we are needing more. Spanish and Finnish would especially be a big help. Visit the site at cwowi.eu and contact Wil and Ank at cwowi@solcon.nl for information.
Europe conference May 2-5 in the Netherlands. We are 100% full already, but Wil and Ank will hear later this week if more rooms may be provided for our group. Contact Wil and Ank at cwowi@solcon.nl for information.
Tulsa conference June 29-30: These times are always so rich in the Lord. Teaching, deep worship, prayer for everyone, informal Q&A – we’ve had person after person say our weekend meetings are unlike anything else they’ve been to – it’s more like a gathering of family, not a big formal conference…you’ll be right at home and at ease and make instant friends on the same spiritual page.
Notice our Zoom meetings coming up. Register above and then make a reminder for yourself as you won’t get one from Zoom or us – we hear from people all the time ‘I forgot’ – set a reminder or two! Notes and handouts are shared only with Zoom participants as there is much said in between the handout points, rendering the handouts incomplete without hearing the teaching live.
CWOWI has seen tremendous growth over the last year
We are taking steps to be in better contact with the house churches. This includes our June 29-30 conference in Tulsa, also Zoom meetings for leaders in the network and more. Stay tuned CWOWI leaders and affiliates!
With me being preoccupied with Chris, I have emails backed up to early October needing to be answered, thank you for your patience. I’ve kept up with the bare minimums…my interviews on Randy Kay, the 4 on Deep Believer and elsewhere have over 1 million views, and many of those email me….
KWOWI – There are now 248 children being sponsored in Uganda and Kenya. Unfortunately, we have also had 6 children who lost sponsors this past month. 1 in Uganda and 5 in Kenya.
This is harder on them than never having been sponsored in the first place, so CWOWI/KWOWI will make up the difference until other sponsors step in. The children range in age from 7 to 15. http://www.kwowi.org.
Our heart is to find ways sponsors can communicate with their sponsored children, we appreciate the patience and prayer as we explore the best ways to do this.
The audio series this month and through the year.
In December when I asked the Father what He wanted me to teach on in January for the audio series (CD or MP3), He very clearly and immediately said: “Walk through the New Testament over the course of the year.” So that’s what I’m doing. This month is Matthew and Mark. Next month will be Luke and Acts, and so on. By the end of the year you’ll have a survey of the whole New Testament with lots of things to study out, and which will change your understanding of the Lord.
Some of what the Lord said for 2024
It’s more for the US, but some will recall I’ve shared He said “2024 will be an interesting year.”
There are a lot of new people to our newsletters and you can go to our site and look at archived newsletters where I’ve shared prophetic things the Father or Lord have told me.
But some will recall me sharing the Lord had told me in the ‘worst case scenario’ Biden would have a ‘health event’ and in March, Harris would be acting POTUS through the elections. The better case was that Biden not run again…He said that health event ‘would be bad for the country’, and said to pray for the best case – Paul said the same thing: “Pray for kings and all in authority that we may live peaceful lives in godliness and honesty. I Timothy 2: 2. So we pray for this year.
When the Lord says to pray about something I take it seriously. I always refer back to Matthew 24: 20 where the Lord said to pray the appearance of anti-Christ isn’t in winter or on the sabbath. It means an event will happen, but the month of that event can be changed – the month it would happen and the day of the week changed, all by asking the Father to intervene. That’s how I’ve been on the US election cycle this year.
In a recent visitation the Lord told me some things about what He is doing in the body of Christ, but among those He made a motion which His right arm – fingers extended, arm extending like a scout in the wilderness would point at a trail and say ‘go this way’. It was exactly that motion. He motioned with His right arm saying as He did so: “Stay the course.” I’ll share more in our Zoom meetings coming up.
In the same way Paul and other authors of the New Testament barely mentioned the drama going on in the political happenings of Rome, so too the Lord rarely mentions what the world is doing. Like the pages of the NT, He is focused on us growing in Him, walking with Him and the Father. Stay the course.
“Stay the course” reminds me of Peter walking on the water in Matthew 14: 22-32, only to get distracted by the wind and waves. Think about it – when you’re already walking on water what do the wind and waves have to do with anything? Verses 30-31 tell us Peter became afraid when he took his eyes off Jesus to look at the wind and waves. Jesus asked: Why did you doubt? Why indeed.
All we do is supernaturally sustained by the Lord as we focus on Him. Think about where you are right now. Your life is in Him, which means you are being supernaturally sustained in the midst of the wind and waves swirling around you.
If you realize the lives of the disciples at that point in their walk with Jesus were lives of supernatural provision – the loaves and fish, the calming of wind and waves, all the healings they had seen for instance. They were already walking in the supernatural and didn’t know it, didn’t appreciate it.
This is pointed out in Mark 6: 51-52 who records the same event of Jesus walking on the water. Mark records the disciples were; ‘…amazed in themselves beyond measure, for they had not considered the miracle of the loaves, which hardened their heart.’
They were already walking in the supernatural in their life with Jesus, but they couldn’t see it because they did not consider previous miracles Jesus had done. That act of not remembering what He has done previously in our lives, results in the hardening of one’s heart.
Just think of it – you and I are already walking in the miraculous. We have a grace on us others outside of the Lord don’t have. Call to remembrance what miracles He has already done in your life and realize your life really is being supernaturally sustained.
When you realize that, really realize that, you too will ask: So what power do the wind and waves have over me? None!
They served only as a distraction, they had no power over Peter at all. They have no power over us at all. The distractions have no power over you unless you give your attention to them.
If you allow the distractions to grab your attention and cause you to fear, you’ll sink from the Lord’s provision. If you look at the wind and waves and say, ‘What do these matter, I’m already walking on the water’, then you’ll continue your walk to Jesus in that miraculous provision.
In Matthew 6: 32 Jesus had talked of how our Father feeds birds and took the thought to clothe flowers, and then commented that food and clothing are what those who don’t have the Father seek. We know the Father, so feed yourself with memories of His past provision for you. How in the midst of difficulty He showed up for you. Nothing has changed. Stay in that peace.
Thank you for being in our lives! Praying always ‘making mention of you in my prayers’. Blessings,
John & Barb, Brian & Amy
