As we continue our walk through the Old Testament, we now study Israel’s civil war which happened when Solomon died. They divided into Israel and roughly 10 of the tribes, which rejected worship in Jerusalem, and Judah, which maintained worship in the temple. The books of Kings and Chronicles detail the rise and fall of both Israel and Judah, and make for an exciting study. More than that, every Christian needs to know the history of Israel and Judah, which will help the books of the OT fall into place in our understanding.
